Herb Plants: Organically Grown Mint: Apple, Grapefruit, and Orange Bergamot Flavored; Three 4″ Pots; Fragrant and Delicious
Mint Plants: Physical Characteristics: Perennial growing 18″-24″. Hardy to zone 5 and is not frost tender. Flowers from August to September. Grows in a variety of soils and environments. Can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It requires moist soil. Edible Uses: Condiment; Tea; Mint Juleps A strong spearmint flavour compliments the fruit of the specific variety (apple, lime, and orange bergamot.) An essential oil is obtained from the whole plant. Cultivation details: Grows easily in a variety of soils. Prefers a slightly acid soil. A sunny position is best for the production of essential oils, but the plant also succeeds in partial shade. Mints have fairly aggressive spreading roots and, unless you have the space to let them roam, they need to be restrained by some means such as planting them in containers that are buried in the soil. Hybridizes freely with other members of this genus. The flowers are very attractive to bees and butterflies. A good companion for growing near cabbages and tomatoes, helping to keep them free of insect pests. Members of this genus are rarely if ever troubled by deer. Organically Grown.
